Inmate who hid synthetic marijuana facing more jail time

GOWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) – An inmate serving a seven-year sentence for armed robbery could face up to four more years in prison when he is sentenced for smuggling synthetic marijuana into the Gowanda Correctional Facility.

Last June, officers found more than two ounces of the drug more commonly known as “K2” or “Spice” hidden in Eldin Collado’s cell, as well as in latex ballons lodged in his groin and anus.

The 33-year-old from Queens pleaded guilty Friday to first degree attempted promoting prison contraband. He will be sentenced in January. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
