Varysburg woman accused of welfare fraud

VARYSBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Varysburg woman is accused of failing to report income on her application for benefits to the Wyoming County Department of Social Service. This allowed 69-year-old Helen Premo to obtain benefits she wasn’t entitled to, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.

Premo was charged with first-degree offering a false instrument and third-degree welfare fraud. She was arraigned in Town of Warsaw Justice Court and released on her own recognizance. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
