ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) — Orchard Park police used a taser on a Blasdell man Sunday near Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Police say Nicholas McDonald, 25, was involved in a fight on Southwestern Boulevard. As officers were breaking up the fight, police say McDonald refused to calm down, and got into the face of one of the officers.
“An officer did successfully utilize a taser to effect the arrest and eliminate any further injury to the offender or officers,” police said in a news release.
McDonald was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police also charged Brandon May, 27 of Springville, with DWI, reckless driving, speed unreasonable and imprudent, unsafe start in traffic and avoiding a traffic control device. Investigators say May was racing another vehicle in the area of South Buffalo Street and Jewett Holmwood Road when he cut through several parking lots and cut-off a patrol car as he pulled back on the road.
Orchard Park police issued about 50 tickets Sunday to drivers for vehicle and traffic infractions.
