BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A driver and passenger inside a Lexus tried to kidnap a child for the fourth time, according to Buffalo Police. Police have been investigating reports about the Lexus for about two weeks. Many parents won’t be at ease about the case, until the drivers are caught.
Police said the first reported incident was October 1st in the 300 block of Connecticut Street. That’s when the passenger of a car called out to a 16-year-old girl and tried to grab her. A woman passing by pulled the teen away from the vehicle.
The second and third incidents happened on October 7th, on the city’s east side. Police said a couple in the same vehicle tried to lure a teena way from a deli in the 100 block of Deerfield Avenue. Four hours later, the couple tried the same thing to a 17-year-old girl near Fillmore Avenue and Paderewski.
News 4 spoke with the convenience store owner where attempted kidnapped number two took place. He, along with neighbors, said they are concerned about the safety of kids in the area.
“He said he came in at 6:00 and he asked the kid hurry up, hurry up, and he tried to take him in the car.” Maan Ali said, “I’m very, very, very mad because this is a kid.”
Markita Evans is a parent who lives in the neighborhood. She said, “I think it’s pretty terrible. It’s sad somebody has to do this to kids period. You know it’s like the way we live and things people do these days is just not right at all.”
The latest incident was on Thursday afternoon in the Macamley Street area near South Park High School. Buffalo police said as students were leaving school, a black male tried to follow students and was motioning towards them.
