ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) — A driver was trapped inside a tractor trailer Monday afternoon, as it dangled over the railing of a ramp off 490 North outside of Rochester.  News 4 sister station WROC reports dozens of firefighters responded to the scene for the dramatic rescue at the unbelievable crash scene.

Monroe County Special Operations rescuers managed to reach the man who was stuck inside the vehicle for almost two hours, according to WROC.  A responder repelled down the ramp to reach the driver, and strap a harness onto him.

It was difficult to reach the driver because the truck’s fuel tank burst and there was 50 gallons of diesel fuel around the crash scene. WROC said there was also a tree in the way.

The driver was rescued from the truck and taken to an area hospital.
