UB fires football coach Jeff Quinn

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The University at Buffalo fired head football coach Jeff Quinn Monday, on the heels of a 37-27 loss at Eastern Michigan.

“It is with great disappointment that we have to make this change,” athletic director White said in a press release. “Unfortunately, the performance on the field this season and over Coach Quinn’s tenure has not matched our expectations for the growth of Bulls football.”

The Bulls are promoting offensive coordinator Alex Wood to take over as interim head coach. Quinn’s final record with UB is 20-36, including 3-4 this season – with two of those wins against FCS schools.

A national search for Quinn’s replacement will begin immediately.

This is UB’s bye week, with the Bulls scheduled to host Central Michigan next Saturday, October 25th, at 3:30pm.
