Boston in snow fight with Erie County

BOSTON, N.Y. (WIVB) – It won’t be long before the roads in western New York are covered in snow. Town of Boston residents want to know who will be removing their snow. The town is in a financial fight with Erie County.

Town Supervisor Martin Ballowe said the town is owed almost $5,000 for snow plowing services. The town board plans to act on a resolution Wednesday. It would give the county 30 days notice the town is backing out of an agreement to plow more than 35 miles of county roads in Boston. It would then be up to the county to plow those roads.

Boston resident Rose Boswell said, “As far as I know, the Town of Boston has always been really good with local plowing. The county, I’m not so sure.” provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
