Supporters to rally outside Lafayette High School

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – People are planning to rally in support of Lafayette High School on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Johns Hopkins University is backing out of its contract to turn the struggling schools around, so the the district plans to phase it out.

The decision was made at a school board meeting earlier this month. East High School is in the same situation. The schools will stop taking new students, then shut down in the hopes of re-opening as new schools.

Lafayette and East High Schools will start being phased out next school year.
