Teachers union demonstrates at City Hall

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo teachers were demonstrating in front of City Hall Wednesday afternoon. The new labor agreement is on their minds this week.

The Buffalo Teachers Federation contract has remained the same for a decade. A Buffalo assemblyman said the school board has not been transparent about negotiations.

Assemblyman Sean Ryan said, “Wednesday afternoon, I look at the agenda, not much going on. Big thing came up, but it wasn’t on the agenda. It’s not there. It wasn’t until the next day that I figured out what happened there.”

The BTF said teacher salaries will be the focal point of negotiations.
