Fredonia State dedicates new $60M Science Center

FREDONIA, N.Y. (WIVB)– The State University of New York at Fredonia is kicking off its homecoming weekend by dedicating a new $60 million Science Center.

The 92,000-square-foot center will serve about 500 students majoring in Biology, Chemistry and other sciences. This is an area where the university has seen a large jump in applications and acceptances.

The science center is a certified green building, using green roofs, energy-efficient  heating and cooling systems .  There is also a unique storm water run-off system that prevents soil erosion and flooding as well as a greenhouse.
