Traffic stop leads to arrest for DWAI, drugs and weapons

ATTICA, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York State Police arrested a West Seneca woman on DWAI, drug and weapon charges.

Troopers say 26-year-old Jamila Ball was going 76 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Route 354 in the Town of Attica when she was pulled over.

When troopers approached the vehicle the say detected the odor of marijuana coming from the car.  After further investigation police found a marijuana smoking pipe and a small amount of marijuana.  When Ball was removed from the car troopers found a stun gun in the driver side door panel.

Ball was evaluated by a drug recognition expert and was then charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs.  In addition she was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, and criminal possession of a weapon.

She is scheduled to answer the charges in Town of Attica Court at a later date. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
