Police issue 42 tickets during Bills home game

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York State Police conducted a DWI saturation patrol during the Buffalo Bills home game on Sunday. They said they issued 42 traffic tickets, including three drunk driving arrests and one unlawful possession of marijuana.

A Rochester resident was stopped for texting while driving on Southwestern Boulevard in the Town of Orchard Park. Police said 32-year-old Jason W. O’Connor was found to be drunk and in possession of marijuana. He will answer charges in Town of Orchard Park Court on a later date.

Police said 42-year-old Luis Ortiz, of Batavia, was stopped for speeding on Southwesterm Boulevard in the Town of West Seneca. Police found him to be intoxicated, and he issued a breath test resulting in a blood alcohol content of .09 percent. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, and will answer the charges in Town of West Seneca Court.

A Springville resident was stopped on Boston State Road for speeding. Brian Smith, 37, was found to be intoxicated and police said he refused to provide a breath sample. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and will appear in Town of Boston Court at a later date. He will also have to appear at a state DMV hearing for failing to submit a chemical test to determine his BAC.
