Police make crystal meth arrest at bridge

LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) –  A woman is accused of trying to cross the Lewiston – Queenston Bridge into the United States with drugs. Lewiston Police said 21-year-old Laura A. McNalty, from Hamilton, Ontario, was arrested around 3:20 a.m. Monday.

Police said McNalty was a passenger in a vehicle that was trying to pass through U.S. Customs, when agents found 6.4 grams of crystal meth, drug paraphernalia and marijuana in her purse.

A 17-year-old male, also from Hamilton, was charged with numerous violations, including unlicensed operation, unregistered motor vehicle, operating without insurance and switched plates.

McNalty was arraigned in Town of Lewiston Court and remanded to Niagara County Jail on $4,000 bail or $8,000 bond.
