Lenihan likely to be new elections commissioner

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Len Lenihan is being recommended for Democratic Elections Commissioner, by Erie County Democratic Committee Chairman Jeremy Zellner.

Lenihan, the former Democratic Committee chairman, will need to be recommended by the party’s executive committee, and then approved by the Erie County Legislature.

Ralph Mohr is the Republic elections commissioner.

Lenihan held the post of party chairman for 10 years before resigning in 2012.  He’ll succeed Dennis Ward who is running for State Supreme Court.
