New Buffalo State president addresses community

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo State College officially has a new president. An inauguration ceremony at Rockwell Hall marked the beginning of Katherine Conway-Turner’s time as the school’s ninth president.

Hundreds of students, faculty, staff, alumni and invited guests welcomed her. The new president talked about what the school could do beyond the campus borders.

Conway-Turner said, “Within the walls of our campus, we press students to reach further than they might have imagined.  To become innovators, scientists, artists, protectors, and stewards of our community.  We believe that social responsibility is a duty of an educated person at Buffalo State.”

Before coming to Buffalo, Dr. Conway-Turner was provost at Hood College in Maryland. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
