Buffalo releases safety tips for Halloween

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The City of Buffalo wants families to stay safe this Halloween. Mayor Byron Brown released some tips for residents to follow this Friday, October 31st.

Brown recommends trick or treaters stop going door to door at 8 p.m. The city suggests residents keep their homes well lit, whether they are passing out candy or not. People who run out of candy, or are not passing out any, are told to put a sign out that tells trick or treaters the candy is gone.

The city made signs for residents to post at their homes if necessary. Click here to view the signs and print them out.

The city suggests neighborhood block clubs and residents have a presence in their area Friday night, to keep one another safe.
