Man pleads guilty to weapon possession

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)  – A man stole another man’s gun and sold it for drugs and cash, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office. Stephen A. Jackson, 40, pleaded guilty as charged to second-degree possession of a weapon.

Jackson is accused of taking the gun from another man’s jacket, as he played pool at a tavern in South Buffalo last December. The DA’s office said Jackson fired the gun into his bedroom floor when he returned home, and then sold it. However, Jackson advised the gun owner he would return it to him for $300 ransom.

Jackson faces a maximum prison sentence of 15 years when he is sentenced as a second felony offender before Judge Case on December 5, 2014. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
