BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Governor Andrew Cuomo and running mate Kathy Hochul will be back in Buffalo at 5 p.m. Monday. They will be at the Dr. Bennett Smith Family Life Center, in Buffalo, for a rally. The governor’s Republican challenger Rob Astorino also has a busy day planned.
The last time Cuomo and Hochul were in western New York, the message was simple, “get to the polls Tuesday.” It’s safe to say that will be same message Monday.
That message was sent Friday when 150 supporters joined them in Niagara Falls. Less than two weeks ago, Cuomo met his competition in the only debate before Tuesday’s vote.
Fracking was of the big items up for debate at the WNED-TV studios on October 22nd. One of Cuomo’s competitors, Rob Astorino, is quite clearly hands on when it comes to fracking. Cuomo is not.
“Thirty-five states have natural gas, 34 are safely drilling and their economies are booming . Let’s look at what’s going on in Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Dakota. We can do that here in New York,” said Astorino.
Governor Andrew Cuomo said, “I’m not a scientist. Let the scientists decide. It’s very complicated, very controversial, academic studies come out all different ways. Let the experts decide.”
Astorino will be making his final push in New York City.
