BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Buffalo’s Bishop Richard J. Malone, along with three other archbishops from the U.S., were invited to the Vatican to participate in an international colloquium Tuesday.

The colloquium is slated to be about the marriage, and Malone brings something unique to the table. He heads the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ committee on laity, marriage, family life and youth.

Malone said he is looking forward to participating in the event, and he asked for prayers for married couples in the U.S.

The colloquium will gather religious leaders from across the world and tackle new ways to look at marriage. Malone is scheduled to return to the U.S. on Nov. 22. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
