Councilman draws attention to blighted property

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Buffalo leader is drawing attention to the owner of a problem property in the City of Buffalo. Ellicott District Common Council Member Darius Pridgen posted a sign outside of a building at 413 Sherman Street.

The sign states the owner’s name and address, and the statement, “The sign has been erected by the City of Buffalo as a public service in the war against slums and blight.”

Pridgen said the property is in the top 10 worst properties in the Ellicott District. He said properties with absentee landlords where blighted conditions have affected neighborhood quality of life create unnecessary demands on city resources. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
