Lenihan approved for Democratic Elections Commissioner

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – In a unanimous vote, lawmakers approved a new Democratic Elections Commissioner. He’s a familiar face in politics in western New York.

Former Democratic Party Chairman Len Lenihan is taking over the post. Lenihan held the post of party chairman for 10 years before resigning in 2012.

Lenihan succeeds Dennis Ward. Ward is moving on to serve on the State Supreme Court.
