Driver stopped for speeding faces DWI, drug charges

CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Clarence man is facing alcohol and drug charges after a traffic stop on Route 33, Sunday. New York State Police said they stopped 21-year-old Domenic Nicotra for traveling 85 mph, when they could smell alcohol on his breath.

Police said Nicotra failed field sobriety tests, and then they found an open container of alcohol and drug paraphernalia in his car. Police said he had a .13 percent blood alcohol content.

Nicotra was charged with DWI, driving a vehicle with an open container of alcohol on a highway, unlawful possession of marijuana, in addition to a ticket for speed. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
