Amherst, N.Y. (WIVB) — A surgeon used his skills to help people who couldn’t afford his surgery to see again.
Dr. Kenneth Anthone performed 15 surgeries Saturday at his Maple Road Office. Dr. Anthone works with the Eyes on America Foundation to provide cataract surgery to people without insurance coverage.
He says his mission is to help others without worrying about making money.
“We’re doing it because we really care about these people. We care about their eyesight, and getting them back into the workforce, being able to see their children maybe, for the first time in maybe 15 years, it’s really a lot of fun, it’s, it really is just so gratifying to do that,” Dr. Anthone said.
In seven years, he has performed about 115 surgeries for the Eyes on America Foundation.
