Buffalo Marathon race director dies

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — The director of the Buffalo Marathon has died.

According to the group Checkers AC, Tom Donnelly passed away unexpectedly. The group announced the death Saturday night on its website.

Donnelly directed the 2014 Buffalo Marathon, which was run Memorial Day weekend. Racers praised changes to the course which made it faster.

Arrangements for Donnelly are pending.
