Emergency workers work around the clock

WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) — At a district building in West Seneca emergency crews are working around the clock to coordinate a disaster response effort.

They’re working not only to clear streets and get traffic moving, but also for public safety. There are over 30 volunteers rotating in and out to keep the center staffed and continue answering phone calls.

“Some people are really in dire straights,” one organizer said. “They just don’t know who to call.”

Organizers said they’re attempting to direct emergency calls to the right agencies. They’re also trying to prepare for what may come when the snow starts to melt.
