Big 4 Basketball Classic offers free tickets to WNY first responders

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – With the Big 4 Basketball Classic set to tip off this Saturday at the First Niagara Center, the arena and the four schools are offering free tickets to first responders from last week’s snowstorm.

“Western New York’s first responders were incredibly helpful during the recent epic snowstorm,” said Niagara Athletic Director Simon Gray. “These dedicated professionals came to the aid of those that were affected. As this event brings together sports fans from the Big 4 community, this is an appropriate way to thank those that made this region safe and secure.”

First responders can show their ID at the box office to acquire two tickets for the double-header.

Niagara will take on St. Bonaventure at 2pm Saturday, followed by a 4:15pm tip between UB and Canisius. All four teams will wear Buffalo Braves-style throwback uniforms.
