WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) – If you have been hit by flooding, Wednesday is the day to get help from the Red Cross. The organization is offering storm cleanup kits. They contain things like brooms, buckets, tarps and shovels.
You can pick them up Wednesday from 2 until 5 p.m, or Friday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Iroquois Middle School in Elma, and St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in West Seneca.
Some of the Red Cross workers helping western New Yorkers, are coming from outside the area. Red Cross volunteers from Wisconsin are lending a hand to those in need in the aftermath of the storm dubbed ’Winter Storm Knife.’
Volunteer Rudy Senarighi proves that ‘good neighbors’ can come from anywhere. She said, “”I’m retired now, I have the time to do this. I know if I needed help people are going to be there to lend a hand to me. It’s just not a big deal, just give some time.”
