WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB)– Williamsville North Senior George Attea maintains a 3.8 GPA, while excelling in both basketball and football.
“I think George is really the consummate student athlete,” explained Williamsville North football coach Mike Mammoliti. “He is a kid that takes as much pride in the classroom as he does on the field.”
“It definitely carries over,” Attea explained. “Doing well in football makes you want to do better in other things like school work and all around.”
Teachers and peers recognize his hard work and his high intellectual aptitude which is why he was selected as one of November’s Scholar Athlete by News 4 Sports.
“George displays the same attributes in the classroom as he does on the field. He is hard worker. He is intelligent and he always puts forth his best effort,” Williamsville North science teacher Chris Hubert said. “He can probably do whatever he wants to do. He has all the attributes. He just has to cultivate them and the sky is the limit. He can go anywhere.”
