BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A man from Amherst was convicted of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
Steven A. Knighton, 48, was arrested in 2009 in the parking lot of a mall. Another individual was stopped with possession of seven kilograms of cocaine. That man flipped and helped police get Knighton by arranging a sale of several kilograms of cocaine.
Officers found $41,000 in Knighton’s vehicle and determined it was to be used for purchasing cocaine. Knighton was reportedly responsible for distribution of over 100 kilograms of cocaine in Buffalo and Niagara falls over 13 months.
He’s facing between 10 years and life behind bars and a possible $10 million fine when he is sentenced on March 22.
