Chautauqua County Sheriff’s SWAT team used in drug bust

NORTH HARMONY, N.Y. (WIVB) —  A Southern Tier Regional Drug Taskforce raid led to the arrest of one man for after he was found to be in possession of 54 marijuana plants, and equipment to further growing operations.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s SWAT team broke into a North Harmony home after an investigation led to a search warrant. Police arrested Edward M. Blake at his home during the search.

Authorities seized 54 plants, equipment to grow and produce the plants and two shotguns. They also found that Blake bypassed the electric meter on his home and was using electricity from National Grid illegally.

Authorities charged Blake with second degree criminal possession of marijuana, fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlawfully growing marijuana and the theft of services.
