Man accused of stealing ATV, resisting arrest

ANGOLA, N.Y. (WIVB) – A Waterford, Pennsylvania man is accused of having a pocket knife during a struggle with New York State Police on Friday morning. Police said Dustin R. Patterson, 21, was spotted hitch hiking near the scene of an abandoned ATV.

The ATV was stolen, and abandoned near the Angola Service Area on I-90 East. When police located Patterson, they attempted to take him into custody. Police said he tried to take out a pocket knife, which Troopers quickly knocked out of his hand.

Patterson was eventually taken into custody. He faces several charges including  menacing a police officer, criminal possession of stolen property, obstructing governmental administration, harassment, resisting arrest and assault. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
