Just a few weeks ago, the Public Works Department dumped around 70 tons of snow from a storm at the Central Terminal. There is still some snow near the terminal, and now more snow is on the way.

The storm isn’t expected to be nearly as bad as that deadly lake effect blast. 4 Warn Weather is predicting it will be much more manageable for road crews.

There are signs up all along the Thruway, warning motorists of the approaching winter weather.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office said they are ready for another storm, but they are urging you to stay inside if it does get bad.

Undersheriff Mark Wipperman said, “Certainly if the snow event and the accumulation is a lot more than anyone expects, we’re ready and prepared on a moment’s notice.”

The county is confident it will be able to keep the roads clear. However, across the east coast, air travel might get jammed up. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
