Strangers approaching local children

GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (WIVB) – A 10-year-old girl on Grand Island ran home Tuesday afternoon, after a stranger approached her while she was walking on Sandy Beach Road.

The Erie County Sheriff’s Office said a person in a red car asked the child if she wanted to get something to eat around 3:20 p.m. The child ran home and called her mother.

Another incident in Buffalo have police reminding parents to talk to their children about stranger danger. Buffalo Police say a stranger approached a school age child at a school bus stop on East Street and Amherst Street.
