Bills release FB Summers

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) – The Bills cleared the way for C.J. Spiller’s return to the active roster today, releasing fullback Frank Summers.

Summers has not been part of the gameplan lately, with the Bills going with more heavy-tight end sets, as opposed to a traditional fullback. Summers was inactive for the last four games.

Spiller, who has missed the last eight weeks on Injured Reserve with the designation to return, is eligible to play this Sunday at Oakland. Bills head coach Doug Marrone said on Monday, the team plans to activate Spiller this week.
