Jets snap Sabres streak with 5-1 win

WINNIPEG (WIVB) – The Buffalo Sabres’ four-game winning streak came to an end with a thud tonight, with Winnipeg picking up a 5-1 win.

Nikita Zadorov scored in the first period to give the Sabres a lead, but turnovers and far too many odd-man rushes led to the Jets piling up goals quickly once the second period started.

Mark Scheifele scored twice, and Michael Frolik added a momentum-changing short-handed goal to send Winnipeg to the win. Ondrej Pavelec played extremely well in net, stopping 27 of the 28 shots he faced.

Buffalo gets some time off before they play again, with Colorado coming to town on Saturday. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
