Visitors might remember a pizza deliveryman who exercised his second amendment rights when he was attacked by four men who wanted to rob him. He took action, and fired rounds after drawing his registered firearm. He struck one man, who police took into custody. That man was treated at ECMC and was listed in fair condition before he was charged.

But the top story of April was on a car which plowed through a guardrail at Humboldt Parkway and Woodlawn Avenue, plummeting onto Route 33. The crash, which totaled the car, killed the 47-year-old driver. Emergency crews attempted to rescue him, but he was pronounced dead on the scene.  Kevin Wayne Brown was eventually identified as the man who died.

Drivers couldn’t access Route 33 in either direction for at least nine hours in both directions as crews cleared the scene. A photo gallery of the deadly crash comprised of photos from cameramen and Report It! photos drew people in as they stayed informed on the news.
