BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — In a city known for neighbors helping one another, a messy accident blocking traffic doesn’t need to hold up a commute for very long. That was the case at least for an accident which caused minor injuries on the I-190 south Friday afternoon.
A witness on the scene said two cars were involved in an accident when one rear-ended the other. Both cars sustained extensive damage, blocking off I-190 south, but thanks to some neighborly help, traffic quickly resumed.
As traffic backed up, a nearby Department of Transportation crew came and helped to sweep up glass, and a driver with a truck helped tow the wrecked cars off to the side.
Other men helped use leaf blowers to reopen the road before authorities even made their way to the scene.
