Buffalo Police arrest 4, connection between shootings possible

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Buffalo Police arrested four people Saturday in connection with a gun incident in the city’s Central Park neighborhood.

Police say an officer pulled over a vehicle which they say was suspicious near Jewett Avenue and Hill Street Saturday night.

The people inside the vehicle reportedly attempted to flee the scene, and were caught after a short foot chase. That chase led to the four arrests, after which police found a discarded handgun which they say was stolen.

Buffalo police say there may be a connection to the recent violence, and they’re investigating the possibility.

Buffalo police have increased presence in that area, as it is where several shootings have happened.

This is the seventh arrest in the past week in connection with gun incidents, but none have yet been linked to any of December’s 11 murders.
