Gov., Lt. Gov. Cuomo & Hochul take oath of office in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — For the second time Thursday, Governor Andrew Cuomo and Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul took the oath of office at the Buffalo History Museum.

Mayor Byron Brown emceed the ceremony and Thurman Thomas introduced Governor Cuomo.

Cuomo and Hochul both focused on their optimism about he future of New York, specifically Buffalo, in their speeches.

“When we came and started 4 years ago in Buffalo, and we came and we said we have a plan to revitalize Buffalo, every face in the audience looked at us, like they had never heard this before,” said Cuomo.

There were several lighthearted moments, especially as they talked about the renaissance in Buffalo.

Kathy Hochul, who is from Buffalo, talked about ice skating at Canalside saying “Buffalo is now cool not just cold.”
