Officials make DWI arrests overnight in southern tier

KIANTONE, N.Y. (WIVB) – Two drivers were arrested for allegedly driving drunk overnight in Chautauqua County.

The sheriff’s office stopped an Erie, Pennsylvania resident around 1:40 a.m. in the Town of French Creek. Officials said Michael E. Francis, 37, was stopped for making a turn without signaling on Old Road.

Francis was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was taken into custody and charged with DWI, BAC of .08 percent of greater, and failure to signal turn.

Less than an hour later, in Kiantone, officials made another DWI arrest. Sheriff’s deputies stopped Roberto Pantojas, 56, on Route 380 for violating vehicle and traffic law.

Officials said he was found to be driving drunk. He was processed and released.
