State reaches settlement with home park owner

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) – New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has reached a settlement with the owners of the Woodlands. It’s a manufactured home park in the Town of Lockport.

The owners have agreed to pay for the repairs of nine homes that are literally coming apart at the seams. Engineers say faulty installation of the factory built homes caused the houses to shift.

The New York State Attorney General Office’s James Morrissey said, “They are going to be replacing any of the piers that are disintegrating, or crumbling, and they are actually going to add additional piers to further buttress the support for the homes.”

It will cost about $20,000 each to repair the nine homes. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
