Old rivalry to hit ice at HARBORcenter

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The United States is taking  on Canada in the Women’s Under-18 World Championships. The old rivalry will hit the ice at the HARBORcenter on Monday night.

The international event is bringing competition from countries all over the world, including Japan and Russia.

News 4 spoke with the director of women’s hockey, who said there isn’t a better place than Buffalo to hold the championships.

Carey said, “This facility is world class, and we have a world class tournament here. Everyone that’s been helping us here in Buffalo has been incredible. We’re hoping to put on a great show for all the hard work they have done.”

The puck drops at 7 p.m. Monday, and organizers believe it will be sold out.
