New Buffalo State housing plan could allow non-student tenants

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — There is a new developer and some major changes in store for a new student housing project planned for SUNY Buffalo State students. This plan will allow for some non-student tenants.

Business First reports that the Buffalo Planning Board reviewed plans for a housing complex of 10 buildings that would house nearly 600 students near the site of the former Contract Pharmaceuticals, better remembered as Westwood Squibb Pharmaceuticals.

The planning board will vote on the One Hundred on Forest plan by DHD Ventures within several weeks.  First there will be a Jan. 22 community meeting to discuss the project. Last year Campus Crest, a Charlotte-based developer was approved to build a similar complex known as The Grove. That complex would have been limited to students. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
