Car found in ditch leads to charges

CLARENCE, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York State Police found a vehicle that slid into a ditch Saturday morning, and they say that sparked the beginning of a drug bust.

Troopers on patrol just before 9:00 a.m. on Delaware Road found a car that slid off the road around 1 a.m. The operator of the vehicle, 20-year-old Mackenzie Mackintosh, was still inside.

They say they called paramedics right away due to the operator’s exposure to cold. She declined the medical care, though.

After investigating the scene, Troopers said they found that she was unlicensed, and they found a glass pipe with marijuana residue in it.

Troopers issued her traffic citations and a ticket for unlawful possession of marijuana. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
