BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A new Buffalo Bills team is forming, and Rex Ryan and Greg Roman are two emerging faces. The Bills just announced the finalization of Roman’s contract as offensive coordinator.
Roman is replacing former offensive coordinator Nate Hackett, a man who has come under criticism for a Buffalo offense which struggled to produce as a cohesive unit.
Roman was the offensive coordinator in San Francisco from 2011 through 2014. He was one of 12 coaching candidates who the Bills brought in to interview.
His fit is expected to be positive, he has a run-first philosophy — in line with Ryan’s offensive tactics.
Buffalo running back Boobie Dixon, who played for Roman at one time, expressed his excitement on twitter.
“Roman is coming,” Dixon wrote on twitter. “Yes time to pull my big boy pads back out.”
