COLUMBUS, Oh. (WIVB) – Nick Foligno drafted Zemgus Girgensons to suit up for the home team in this Sunday’s NHL All-Star Game.
Girgensons, the only Sabres player in the game, joins the Buffalo native’s team – which also features South Buffalo’s Patrick Kane.
Thanks to a big group of voters from Latvia, Girgensons was the top vote-getter this year to earn a spot in the game.
“I thought it was a joke when I saw the first week votes,” said Girgensons tonight. “After that, I understood the Latvians were on a mission.”
