BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A luxury hotel chain plans to open in downtown Buffalo. The Westin Buffalo will occupy the first five floors of the building being built at the corner of Delaware Avenue and Chippewa Street. Delaware North will own and operate the Westin brand’s first hotel in the region.
The hotel will feature 118 guest rooms, state-of-the-art meeting facilities, a fitness studio, and a bar among other amenities. It’s set to open in June 2016.
“We are proud to partner with Starwood Hotels to bring the innovative Westin brand to Buffalo. Given that Delaware North will operate the hotel, The Westin Buffalo will be an exciting and prestigious addition to our lodging portfolio and our first city-center hotel,” said Rick Abramson, President of Parks and Resorts for Delaware North, in a press release.
Delaware North’s world headquarters will be in the building also, with a separate entrance for the office space on the 6-12th floors. The hotel and offices will share an on-site parking ramp with dedicated spots for hotel guests.
