Blowing winds sweep snow across Niagara County

PENDLETON, N.Y. (WIVB) – Niagara County was one of the areas that saw the most action from the snow storm Sunday night and Monday morning. There was as much as 10 inches of snow in some areas.

Blowing winds swept snow across the roadways, creating low visibility and making snow blowing a challenge. A number of cars ended up sliding off roads from the slick conditions.

The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office said their officers kept busy responding to dozens of cars off the road. For those who braved the elements Monday, they would have rather stayed indoors.

Niagara County resident Chris Domagala described the scene, “It’s pretty much white out.”

Pendelton resident Anna Geltz said, “Cold it’s hitting, when it’s hitting it’s hard, it hurts. It felt like a snow globe broke open earlier when we were out shoveling, it was just bad.”
