Mall stabbing suspect arrested out of state

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – A woman accused in a stabbing at the Boulevard Mall is now in custody. Officials picked up 18-year-old Maiya L. Marks out of state, and brought her back to the Erie County Holding Center.

In December, Marks and a security guard at Macy’s reportedly had an altercation when she was seen attempting to steal a luxury handbag. She escaped after the stabbing, and police couldn’t find her after searching the mall.

Marks is accused of second-degree assault, possession of pot, possession of stolen property, grand larceny and criminal possession of a weapon. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
