BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — Following a controversial decision to restrict e-cigarettes to the same restrictions on normal cigarettes by the City of Buffalo, Erie County is looking to do the very same thing.

The Erie County Legislature is set to vote on that very issue on February 12th, and it’s expected to pass. The vote was moved to the 12th, after being tabled Thursday.

Lawmakers are looking to place the same restrictions the City of Buffalo enacted in all of the city’s surrounding suburbs.

A major difference in the law is that county lawmakers are looking to put an exception in the county law to permit using e-cigarettes, or vaping, in vape lounges. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
